What a week!

Thank god it's Friday, and I am so buggered.
Four projects were due in this week, all done and handed in now.
Monday was a long day at Uni, Tuesday we (Rick and I) went to the Athletics. Then I didn't sleep more than 1 hour that night.
Wednesday I was tired and had a headache all day, and had to sit through a long uni day. Thursday I worked with Rick and was still tired. I didn't get to watch Medium or Lost cause I was doing projects. And I didn't get to watch Supernatural on Monday yet either.
Friday morning I went to Uni to hand in an assignment and do some errends in the city. Now it's 12.15 pm and I'm waiting for Rick's mum to come over to Work (After Uni I came down to work to spend time with Rick). Rick's mum and I are going into the city, not sure what we are going to look at.
I probably won't get home until 4 or so this afternoon, when I do get home, I must clean the house as it's a bit messy again, and I want everything organised this weekend so that Monday morning when I go to Placements, everything is done and clean. Going to be a busy few weeks ahead with rounds, and all those lesson plans. Must start going to bed earlier until then so I'm not sooooo tired.

Ok, I know I'm good, but that good??? :)

Well I'm singing my praises today, I managed to change the colour of the top bar on my blog (not that big of a deal), but I managed to add two links..... all on my own. You see I needed Rick's help to do the Photo on the top bar with the title of my blog, and making my profile image small enough to use. Thanks Rick....

My girls

As suggested, here are my girls. Bella is the brown one, and Molly is the black one. Bella is just over two, and Molly is about a year and a half. Bella is the playful naughty one, whilst Molly is the little baby who likes a good cuddle.
Bella enjoys games of tug-a-war and having a shower (yes a realy human shower) and swiming in the spa and finding the avocado in the shopping bags. She also enjoys eating the apples that drop off the apple tree in the back yard.
Molly does not enjoy showers, but loves to go back to bed in the mornings once everyone is out of bed and have a snooze, she also likes to stay on the couch when everyone has gone to bed and doesn't move till she is carried to bed. Molly loves to bark at Bella when she is playing any type of game. (She doesn't get the point of games yet, so she barks)

Fired Up!

I've been a pretty fired up girl for a while now, maybe the last three months or so it's gotten worse. The problem is that I thought my blog would be my place to express it, but that's not the case. It seems I am unable to put my inner thoughts about what's firing me up on here, because the people responsible for firing me up, might read it. Which wouldn't be so bad, would it? So now it seems once again I am left alone to deal with my mind. I am ok with this fact only because I know where things are going, call it fate if you will. I'm not an evil person, I don't make things up, but I should learn not to share the TRUTH because I have learnt people will believe what they want, and normally that's going to be the opposite to what I've said. I don't take being dissed lying down, my rule is, if you dis me, I'll dis you right back! I know two wrongs don't make a right, but why should one person bother when the other wont and doesn't want to, some people just are not meant to get along maybe. I don't have a negative outlook on people but I have strong gut feelings, and they seem to be correct 90% of the time. I see people building up this facade of lies, others can't see the lies butI know they are going to tumble down sometime soon enough. I am a very patient person. I can wait.

Birthday's all around

Last night was Rick's dad's (or my father in-law), birthday dinner. As I had the day off we went in there before lunch and went to a movie with the whole gang. Then we had yum cha for lunch (always yummy!) After that we went back to his mum and dad's place in the city to relax until dinner, and watched Kingdom of Heaven - great movie. Dinner was Indian (very yummy) so we went to the Docklands for tea and Rick's mum and dad's two friends joined us, they are really lovely people, the husband drove me to my wedding in his beautiful car! After stuffing myself silly we called it a night and went home. It seems to me that there are a lot of birthdays happening lately. About 5 in the last few months. It got me thinking, this would have been a really cool birthday for Ricks dad. Everyone there including his mum who normally is a few states away. And then I thought about my birthday, and well how it was really a none event, then I made a mental note to make sure it was bigger and better next year, and how I would have to beat my pretty lame gathering of three birthday cards. I think a good way to judge the successfulness of a birthday is to look at the quantity of cards. The more the merrier! Well maybe this philosiphy is flawed, but if it is, then why do people keep their cards and display them for everyone visiting to see? Hey? If they are no measure at all, then u wouldnt keep them. Who knows. Anyway time to look at pedegodgies again and find a historical artifact for history tomorrow. Im I an artifact??

LAUNCH LAUNCH LAUNCH

Come one, come all.... all two readers that I have, not including myself. I am sure my fan base will grow larger soon enough.
Enough about that....

Sundays lead into Mondays......
I find my weeks are flying past lately. Monday and Wednesday are long uni days (10 to 7) and Tuesday is my only day off with my hubby. Thursdays I generally go into work with him and help him out. Friday this week I spent getting my nails re-done (badly overdue) and then many hours at Broadmeadows Seconday (See other post), I didn't get home till 6 ish. So Saturday comes and I was desperate to get some cleaning and things done but well, didn't seem to progess much. Started by airing out the house (it needed it), doing 4 loads of washing, drying and folding, did plenty of ironing, cleaned out some cupboards, did dishes, and before I knew it, Rick was home and it was time to make dinner. So Sunday I'm really pysched up to get everything done, but I was getting my hair colour done, so I leave home at like 10.30am, after washing my hair and doing a small amount of cleaning, and don't get home till 5.30pm. That whole 7 hours and I managed to get my hair done, look over the wedding photo's with one of my bridesmaids, the food shopping on the way home and print photo's of the wedding and make a little albumb for Rick's Nan who is desperate for them to show her girlfriends. I walk in the door, and Rick knocked a minute later...... SO my house is a bit messy, I haven't cleaned it the way I wanted to and I haven't done much homework. But at least my hair and nails look good. :) That's ok anyway as I have decided to have tomorrow off uni. Rick only gets one day off a week (Tuesday), and only has three of the public holidays off a year, so I figure a good wife would spend the day with him, and catch up on uni later (i'm prob ahead anyway!) and it's my father in laws birthday and dinner for him is on a 6.oopm so if I was at uni which doesn't end till 7:15pm I wouldn't get to dinner till 8 which would be soooo late that they would all prob have left and be home already. Soooooo, no uni tomorrow. But only this once!

For those who didn't know, I am now a happily married woman. January 19th 2006, the best day of my life, I married my best friend, and he's really cute too!

Teaching Rounds

Today I went to Hillcreast Secondary College in Broadie, to meet with my supervising teacher that i will spend three weeks following and picking the brain of. I dont start my teaching round till 27th of March, but as I am really excited about teaching and learning to teach, I decided I would go today (last day of term, and I start there on the first day of term 2).
Well I got there at 12.00pm and didnt leave till 4.30pm. It was great. My supervisor is great, she basically said I can do whatever I want. If I wanna teach her classes first thing on that Monday, I can otherwise I can just watch. She is super cool, and pretty close to the type of teacher I want to be.
Now I've had a few people try to 'scare' me and tell me how bad its going to be out there in Broadie, or 'the ghetto' as people have referred to it, but I just don't buy it. Yes there was a school yard fight about half an hour into my meet and greet, and kids with tattoos, spikey moe-hawk (the 80's super tall kind), language that I dont use being thrown around, and well just plain old rough kids, but they are really great when you talk to them. They grow up rough, and pretty hard, but most seem to understand that in the classroom they have to be a bit nicer. I think I'm going to love it. I get to teach a year 12 Business management class, and year 11 Legal and S.O.S.E yr 8 and 10. I'm told the year 8's are the louder year!

As I' m not naming names on this site, well real names anyway, Joanne*, my supervisor is great, after the kids leave on a Friday, the teachers do drinks in the staff room, and I mean real drinks, beer, champagne, even UDL's, its great and they invited me this week, so i joined in (didnt drink though) and bonded alittle.

The interesting thing was that 5 teachers were dip ed students that did their rounds there, 5 or less years ago! Job opportunity possibility.

What's this all about?

Well to tell you the truth, I'm not sure yet. Maybe I'll share my thoughts on the Dip ed system, maybe i'll tell you the horror stories of teaching rounds..... or maybe i will treat this like my diary i used to write in when i thought no-one read it.
